My 'Mutant' leads are covered with three separate coats of special polymer coating and a secret “Mutant” coat finish.
These leads are for the angler who really wants a natural looking lead that virtually disappears on a choddy or silty bottom and are popular with barbel anglers too in shallow running water.
A 'Dusty Silt' CAMO finish is also available which blends in with most lake beds perfectly for those not too bothered!
I do NOT make a 'shiney smooth finish' as these look very nice in the tackle shop and pleasing to the eye of the angler, but are no doubt detectable to carp in certain light conditions and look anything but natural on the lake bed!
I make specialist leads in most sizes to order, and now have a full range of the popular 'in-line' Dumpy Pears available.
All are hand made for each customer although I keep a small amount of stock, so allow around a working week for delivery.
The 'Mutant' coating is a secret natural finish and each one is unique in texture and hand finished in my workshop.
All loops on non 'EdLed' design now chemically blackened quality steel.

Swivels used on my distance leads are top quality 'Power' swivels 110 lb breaking strain to ensure safety on a long cast. Most other leads on the market carry swivels of much less breaking strain especially the auction site cheaper ranges.
'EdLeds' © use quality 6mm ring swivels and hang on a lead clip perfectly unlike some cheaper leads using inferior Far Eastern components.
They aid instant hooking of wary carp as designed.
They release from the lead clip much better than standard swivels for total fish safety in the event of a carp towing a rig if your line should part for any reason.
The special “Mutant” porous coating will take on the scents from the lake bed or any bait dip or glug if required and is an extra process in manufacture so these are slightly more expensive than 'Dusty Silt'.
The Dr Bleep “Dusty silt” coating is a mottled camo silty colour blending six mixed camo polymer coatings.
The finished coating blends in with most lake beds perfectly for total camo presentation of the rig.
In water the “Mutants” resemble a waterlogged bit of old wood or an ancient stone, and are popular with Barbel anglers too, but don’t drop one in the margins accidentally...you won’t find it again in a hurry!

This lead has a ring swivel buried inside the main body of the lead. This is seen to be an edge for big wary old carp when picking up a bait due to restricted movement resulting in a hooked fish not an aborted take!
The 'EdLed' is available in three shapes at present but more will be added to the range soon.
The 'EdLed' used as a component in rigs during trials accounted for a number of big UK carp to over 40lbs from several difficult waters by my consultants.
