Many congrats on your recent fish...what a stunner.. made even better by the fact that you worked hard for that beast with the rod weed rake while the others on there fished the clear water and......... blanked!
I will put the pic you sent me in the Gallery if you don't mind as it was caught on my bait?
See you at the market in a couple of weeks no doubt.

Up and running and looking good Doc. Don't forget about those super flat pear leads that we discussed when we met last. They really do get the best out of the lead's weight when it comes to fishing a running set up, especially when using the bigger ring.
Speak soon
Chris
Yes Chris...I will be in the workshop this week knocking some out.
Don't forget....we have an 'Old School' sesh planned on that famous water in Autumn. Looking forward to re-living those times but I will use a modern landing net rather than a bike wheel rim and hessian sack! I will bring you the leads then.

Hi Rhys.
It was good chatting to you earlier.
Here is a picture of a carp I caught from my new lake.
This all started about 3 years ago on holiday when we accidently found some land for sale that had two lakes and planning permission to build a house. In all as well as the lakes we have 3 fields, part of a forest, a pond and stream. The house was finished this march its probably going to take me another couple of years to landscape a garden so I won\'t be able to fish as much as I would like. Apart from the fishing there is other wildlife. deer in the forest, red squirrels and even an eagle.
The lakes have not been properly fished for some time but there was a local rumour of a 25 pounder that was caught about 8 years ago. This could be fiction, it could have died or could have grown a lot bigger. Wont really know unless someone catches it or The lakes are drained or netted.
Its all situated in the stunningly beautiful Dordogne in France and for me its the realisation of a dream and something that I could never achieve in the uk as it would cost more than a million quid over here.
At present I don\'t plan to commercially exploit it but just let friends and relatives use it. It surprising how many have volunteered to find out precisely whats in it! what has been caught so far are Mirror and common carp, roach, rudd bream and perch
However it all depends on what my running costs turn out to be. If its more than I can afford I might have to consider leasing the lakes out for a month or so
I enclose a photo of each lake plus a shot of what came out the top lake. I think the bigger fish are in the bottom lake.
regards
